The project was completed in 2012 and has significantly improved connectivity and reduced travel time between these cities.

The NHAI has also been involved in a number of other major highway projects such as the North-South and East-West Corridor projects, the National Highways Development Project Phase III, and the Bharatmala Pariyojana.
